5. Security Deposit Policy

Collection of Security Deposits

  • Purpose: Security deposits are required for certain services, such as Villa Property Rentals, Yacht Charters, and Car Rentals, to cover potential damages, missing items, or additional costs incurred during the use of our services.
  • Amount: The amount of the security deposit varies depending on the specific service booked and the associated risk. Details regarding the required deposit amount for each service are clearly listed on each specific service page.
  • Payment Method: Security deposits must be paid using a credit card or other accepted payment methods prior to the commencement of the service. This payment will be held in a secure account. The security deposit is not included in the price during check out at The Cruiser Group LLC and will be a separate charge either done by The Cruiser Group LLC or the vendor of each service.

Conditions for Deposit Use

  • Damage Assessment: Upon conclusion of the service, an inspection will be conducted to assess any damages or missing items. The findings of the inspection will be documented and shared with the customer.
  • Applicable Charges: If damages are found or items are missing, the cost of repairs or replacement will be deducted from the security deposit. Detailed receipts or estimates will be provided to justify any deductions.
  • Additional Costs: In some cases, security deposits may also be used to cover additional costs not paid upfront, such as extended rental periods, additional cleaning services, or fuel charges.

Refund of Security Deposits

  • Timing: Security deposits will be refunded within a specified number of days post-service completion, typically within 7 to 14 days, allowing sufficient time to fully assess the condition of the rented property or vehicle.

  • Disputes: In the event of a dispute over deductions, customers are encouraged to contact our customer service department to discuss the issue. We aim to resolve all disputes amicably and transparently.

Special Considerations

  • High-Risk Rentals: For high-value items or services, such as luxury yachts, exotic cars or high-end villas, the security deposit may be higher, and additional insurance coverage may be required.
